New Program for Schools and Nonprofits to Raise Funds

Reading, MA (PRWEB) October 25, 2010

The MaKu Collection, a Reading, MA, based online boutique, opened its door this month. Store owner/designer, Winnie MokWood, created the website to share her passion in jewelry and to use it as a channel to help non-profit organizations.

“Our mission is to generate a reasonable profit while supporting schools and other non-profit organizations in need.”

MaKu’s Fundraising Program gives customers an opportunity to support organizations through their purchases. Fundraising through The MaKu Collection is easy. For each participating organization, a special code is entered during checkout which designates the organization the proceeds will benefit. Five percent of the net proceeds will be sent to the organization at the end of the year.

In addition to directed fundraising by customers, a percentage of the non-designated net proceeds will be donated to a school or organization of MaKu’s choice at the end of each year.

Any non-profit organization interested in fundraising opportunities with The MaKu Collection should send an email to info@themakucollection.com.

The MaKu Collection carries one of a kind handmade and imported jewerly and accessories for women and kids. Winnie MokWood sources semi-precious stones, handmade silver/gold plated components, and artisan beads from around the world to create her beautiful line of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. She also hand selects trendy Swarovski crystals, sterling silver, and gold plated jewelry to be showcased in the store. Her hair accessories department features designers Andrea’s Beau, Pamela Macuzzi, and “Creative Clips by Colleen”.

Hey, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
